"A jewel in the crown of Sweetwater County" -
2013 CARF Accreditation Survey
In 1998 Life Skills founders began serving their first individual, realizing that the spirit of fun, individualization, and heart remained the missing elements from many of the programs in the area. Life Skills built its reputation on excellence, and continues the tradition of being first in class. At Life Skills we believe in "making dreams a reality" whether it's seeing the ocean, visiting another country, spending the week at Disneyland or living in your own apartment for the first time! We make dreams a reality! We are working on our first trip to the moon really soon, should be exciting! Life Skills today serves numerous folks throughout Southwest Wyoming continuing the inclusion revolution everywhere we go. It's not a party until the Life Skills Crew arrives, affectionately named the "The Pretty People Club". We make having a disability feel cool, and provide the heart and compassion that is required in supporting a person through their life journey. At Life Skills we believe everyone is a "VIP". Come experience the Life Skills difference!

LSW’s progressive ideals and philosophy reflects three dimensions which contribute to its mission statements, and define the purposes of the organization, and its intended contributions, to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities. Cultivating: to nurture, enrich, and develop, through education and information, those we serve in order to reach their maximum potential. Independence: to promote self-advocacy and responsibility in order to become a contributing member of the community, creating the greatest choice, freedom, and opportunity for individuals with disabilities. Inclusion: active participation and contribution to one’s community through employment, participating in community activities and programs, and creating a meaningful existence that is both fulfilling and productive. |
